Dua Lipa Drops Her Disco Pop Single, “Don’t Start Now”

The British singer/songwriter, Dua Lipa has dropped a message for her exes with and new funky disco number, “Don’t Start Now”.

This kiss-off club track is the start of Dua Lipa’s new era with her forthcoming second album. The pop singer has once again teamed up with the writers of her hit single “New Rules” and has birthed the new peppy track as she sends a clear message to her ex-lover through her verses, “If you don’t wanna see me dancing with somebody/If you wanna believe that anything could stop me,” she sings in the pre-chorus, “Don’t show up/Don’t come out/Don’t start caring about me now.”

“I chose to put this song out first so I could close one chapter of my life and start another, Into a new era with a new sound! It’s about moving on and not allowing anyone to get in the way of that. It also felt like a natural first song choice as I made it with the brilliant same crew I made ‘New Rules’ with” explained Dua Lipa in a statement. She also revealed that fans should expect a new take on the style of music she will be putting out in the forthcoming album.

Dua Lipa has had a blast the past couple of years as she has been releasing music with a string of big names like Calvin Harris, BLACKPINK, Silk City and has been busy bagging several awards including a Grammy nomination as the “Best New Artist” last year.

Her new era’s already off to a fantastic start and we can’t wait for more!
