Ed Sheeran And Lil Baby Have Collaborated on a New Remix Of ‘2step’
Ed Sheeran and Lil Baby have collaborated on a new remix of the song ‘2step’. Sheeran’s fifth studio album, ‘=’ was released last year and featured the original track. This new version comes with an accompanying music video that was shot in Kyiv, Ukraine before Russia invaded the country in February.
Sheeran has declared that all earnings from the album would go to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal, which will help victims of the violence.
The singer revealed in a statement that he filmed the video for ‘2step’ in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine before the horrific acts of violence began. It was his first visit to the country, and everyone from the production staff to the many people he met on the days of shoot made him feel quite welcome.
The Ukrainian production firm, Radioaktivefilm, behind the clip said that this video genuinely reminded them of the best of times; it was the last video they created before the world broke apart and watching it, restores their sense of normalcy and delight and that they hope people appreciate it as much as they do.
Sheeran also performed at the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal’s Concert For Ukraine, which aired on ITV in March. The performance raised more than £12 million, and the amount is said to continue to rise. Around £3 million in funds were expected to be raised.
In recent weeks, a number of musicians have participated in campaigns to help the people of Ukraine. Sonic Youth released a live CD on Bandcamp earlier this month, showcasing a performance recorded in Kyiv, Ukraine on14th of April, to benefit World Central Kitchen.
Pink Floyd also contributed to the relief effort in Ukraine by releasing their first new song in decades. Julian Lennon, John Lennon’s son, played the song “Imagine” for the first time to collect money for Ukraine. The cover was created as part of the global Stand Up For Ukraine campaign, which was televised live from Warsaw, Poland.
