Ed Sheeran Performs ‘2step’ at the Billboard Music Awards 2022 in Belfast

Ed Sheeran played ‘2step’ live in Belfast for the Billboard Music Awards 2022. Last week, the star performed at two gigs at the city’s Boucher Road Playing Fields, with footage from one of them aired during the awards ceremony.

The BBMAs 2022, presented by Diddy, will take place tonight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Sheeran took up the accolade for Top Billboard Global (Excluding the United States) Artist earlier today.

Footage of the British singer performing his ‘=’ hit ‘2step’ from one of the Northern Irish gigs was aired during his live performance. Watch it now in the video below.

Most of the 2022 Billboard Music Awards were given away during a TikTok pre-show livestream. Olivia Rodrigo and Kanye West lead the winners with six trophies.

The Weeknd got the most nominations at the BBMAs 2022, with 17 nods, followed by Doja Cat with 14. She took home the trophy for Top R&B Artist as the first award of the main ceremony.

Before Silk Sonic covered Con Funk Shun’s ‘Love’s Train’ to Vegas, Diddy started the awards show with the support of Jack Harlow, Bryson Tiller and Teyana Taylor. With a performance of ‘Big Energy,’ Latto made her first appearance at the awards show.

Morgan Wallen’s performance was dubbed “tone deaf” by spectators after he took the stage shortly after messages promoting social justice and anti-racism. Travis Scott made his first significant public appearance since last year’s Astroworld tragedy.

This year’s Icon Award was presented to Mary J. Blige by Janet Jackson, last year’s recipient.
