Ed Sheeran Teams Up With Budjerah For a New ‘2step’ Remix

Ed Sheeran has released the sixth official remix of his ‘=’ single ‘2step,’ this time with Budjerah, an up-and-coming Australian artist.

Budjerah, an R&B singer-songwriter from the seaside community of Fingal Head, New South Wales, was introduced to Sheeran at the 2021 ARIA Awards, where he received the Breakthrough Artist award. Sheeran gave the prize after performing at the ARIA Awards last year in honour of Mushroom Group founder, Michael Gudinski.

Budjerah said in a press statement announcing the remix, that he was really shocked to have won his first ARIA Award for Breakthrough Artist at last year’s ARIAs, and it meant so much to him because Ed Sheeran was the one who read his name out. He said that it’s incredible to be a part of Ed’s Australian remix of ‘2step,’ and to have it released globally right before his first overseas tour.

Budjerah’s remix of ‘2step’ is the sixth Sheeran has released so far, following remixes by Lil Baby, Antytila, Ellinoora, Ultimo and 1.Cuz. Sheeran’s fifth album, ‘=,’ received a three-star review from NME and includes the song.
