Ellie Goulding has revealed that a "very personal" album is in the works. The pop star first mentioned new music in September, sharing on Instagram that she was “slowly getting back” while focusing on boxing and workouts.
She hinted that the process would take time as she was immersed in songwriting and even shared glimpses of voice recordings on her iTunes, all labelled “new recording.”
This upcoming release will follow her 2023 album Higher Than Heaven.
In a recent interview with The Sun, Ellie Goulding shared insights into her upcoming projects, describing her next album as a departure from her previous work. She explained that while her last album was “intentionally impersonal,” her new music delves into her personal experiences, observations, friendships, and connection with nature. Goulding emphasized that these themes feel more elevated and evolved compared to her earlier work.

She admitted that songwriting, particularly when drawing from personal emotions, doesn’t come easily to her. Reflecting on her process, she noted that some of her best work emerges during casual, unstructured moments, such as conversations over tea. While she did not disclose a release date, she mentioned taking the necessary time to create.
Goulding also revealed a secret project: a classical music album, which she described as a reflection of her deep passion for the genre. Additionally, she spoke about her recent collaborations with Calvin Harris, including their July release Free. She highlighted their strong creative connection, likening their studio dynamic to the comfort of long-standing collaboration.
This marked their fourth project together, following the success of Miracle in 2023, which Harris had described as completing a “trilogy” after I Need Your Love (2012) and Outside (2014).
