Emily Blunt Hints at ‘Devil Wears Prada’ Sequel

Fans are excited as rumors of a ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ sequel have surfaced. In the 2006 original, Emily Blunt, who played the acerbic assistant Emily, alluded to the possibility of a follow-up. When Blunt spoke at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Saudi Arabia, she said she had heard stories and that “stuff churning around,” but she was unable to provide any confirmation. The cast would be overjoyed if a sequel were to be made, she continued.

Blunt’s comments come after Stanley Tucci, her co-star in ‘Devil Wears Prada’, recently stated that he would like to play the astute Nigel again.

Although he hasn’t heard any specifics regarding the narrative, Tucci, who is also Blunt’s brother-in-law, stated that he would be delighted to return.

Disney is reportedly working on a ‘Devil Wears Prada’ sequel some twenty years after the first one was released, according to a July report. Producer Wendy Finerman and director David Frankel are in negotiations to return, while Aline Brosh McKenna, who wrote the screenplay for the original movie based on Lauren Weisberger’s novel, is working on the sequel.

But early this year, Blunt had a more cautious outlook. She implied on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast that the actors were happy to leave the plot exactly as it is because they believe that some things are better left unaltered.

The movie’s Andy Sachs star, Anne Hathaway, also offered her thoughts on the prospect of a follow-up. Despite a brief reunion with Blunt and Meryl Streep at the SAG Awards in February, she told Extra in April 2024 that she didn’t think the tale would likely continue.
