Eminem At His Creative Best

Slim shady’s back with a brand new music video for his track ‘Godzilla’ featuring the late Juice WRLD. This one features on the rapper’s latest album, ‘Music to Be Murdered’ and the video is just bizarre…to say the least.

Now, going by the name of this track, you would expect people dressed in Godzilla costumes to be the star of the show and honestly, they’re possibly the most normal thing you’ll find in the music video. In a world filled with Eminem clones, most dying at the hands of the OG Em, it’s all ‘video vomit’ if one could call it that.

That’s not to say it’s a bad video as such, if one thing it deserves is a good 100 points for creativity. But perhaps the video is simply a peek into well, a scattered mind. Between shots of Eminem breathing fire, slashing up animal carcasses and climbing on mountains of old CDs – there’s just enough space to squeeze in an absolutely absurd cameo from both Dr. Dre and Mike Tyson. Sooo, is this all just a metaphor for what life in the industry is like or are we looking to deep?

Directed by Cole Bennett, the video hits hard right at the climax where we see footage of Juice WRLD. The up and coming rapper passed away in December last year, and his little voice over at the end arrives with a heartbreaking message, “If anyone’s going through anything, I hope and I pray that you get through it and just know that you do have the strength to get through whatever it is you’re going through,” we hear the young Jarad say.

As the video mentions, Juice WRLD will always be loved. Talent like that will always be remembered.
