Eminem, Janet Jackson, and Boy George Nominated for 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame
The 2025 Songwriters Hall of Fame nominees have been announced, featuring Eminem, Janet Jackson, Boy George, and more. The Songwriters Hall of Fame revealed the list of nominees for its 2025 class on November 12, with candidates divided into two categories: performing and non-performing songwriters. Out of a total of 26 nominees across both categories, only six will ultimately receive the honour—three from each group.
In addition to Eminem, Janet Jackson, and Boy George, the performing songwriter nominees include N.W.A., Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, Bryan Adams, and George Clinton, among others.
Non-performing nominees include Mike Chapman, Sonny Curtis, Franne Golde, Rodney Jerkins, and Roger Nichols, among others.
Eligible voting members have until December 22 to cast their votes, and the final inductees will be announced early next year. The six selected songwriters will be celebrated at the 2025 Induction & Awards Gala, set to take place in New York City in June.
Previous inductees include Snoop Dogg, Gloria Estefan, and Jeff Lynne in 2023, and R.E.M., Timbaland, and Steely Dan in 2024. Additionally, Cindy Walker and Prince received posthumous honours, with SZA and Diane Warren receiving special awards that year.
