During the US leg of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Mathematics’ world tour, Eminem made a surprise appearance and joined Sheeran onstage.
At a concert held at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan on 15th July, which is Eminem’s hometown, Ed Sheeran invited the rap icon to join him onstage for a special performance. Together, they delivered a memorable rendition of a few tracks much to the delight of the audience.
During the concert, Ed Sheeran surprised the crowd by starting to play a rendition of the 2002 hit ‘Lose Yourself’ from the ‘8 Mile’ Soundtrack. He revealed to the audience that he had only started rehearsing the song earlier in the day, expressing uncertainty about how it would turn out. While Ed Sheeran performed the track, Eminem made a dramatic entrance onto the stage, causing the crowd to erupt with enthusiastic cheers.
“Can I just say, he was gonna come out and do one song, but I said you can’t come out in Detroit and just do one song. Do you want another song?” Sheeran asked.
The duo proceeded to perform Eminem’s 2000 hit song, ‘Stan’ with Ed Sheeran taking on the parts originally sung by Dido. Addressing the crowd, Eminem expressed his sentiment by saying, “Detroit, I missed you.”
