A week before her wedding, Emma Stone got a black eye, and she delved into the details of how it occurred in a recent podcast. “The week that I got married, I opened a refrigerator and the handle broke off and I got a black eye, and that’s where it stops,” She chuckled as she said it.

Emma's revelation follows a period of privacy surrounding her love story and marriage with her husband. The couple is said to have initiated their romantic journey in 2017 after crossing paths on Saturday Night Live, where Emma was hosting. Two years into their relationship, they got engaged, with Dave publicly announcing their engagement in 2019. He shared a photo of Emma's engagement ring, featuring a pearl set in a diamond halo.

Emma tied the knot with comedian and writer Dave McCary, and agreed after Sean joked that she “needs a helmet” when she does things. Initially scheduled for March 2020, their wedding had to be postponed to a later date due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Subsequently, they welcomed a daughter named Louise Jean in 2021.

Emma expressed her views on marriage before becoming engaged in an interview with her close friend Jennifer Lawrence. Speaking to Elle magazine, she stated, "I got older, and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids." Emma acknowledged that her perspective on having children evolved as she matured, admitting, "As a teenager, I was like, I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids."
