Expert Suggests Princess Diana Would Have Opposed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Marriage

Princess Diana tragically passed away when Prince Harry was just 12 years old. Amid the ongoing challenges within the royal family, a palace insider has suggested that if the late Princess of Wales had been alive, she likely would not have approved of her younger son marrying Meghan Markle.

Prince Harry and Meghan tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle in 2019, with the world watching their royal wedding. However, royal commentator Dickie Arbiter recently shared his thoughts on the matter.

Speaking to Radio Times, Arbiter, a former spokesperson for Queen Elizabeth, expressed his belief that Diana might have intervened. He said, “If Diana had been alive, I’m going to stick my neck out here, and I doubt Harry would have married Meghan.” He emphasized that Diana was fiercely protective of her sons and would have scrutinized anyone she felt wasn’t right for them. According to Arbiter, Diana’s influence on her sons was significant, and her opinion would have played a crucial role in Prince Harry’s decision to marry.

Arbiter also noted that many of Harry’s struggles stem from unresolved grief over his mother’s death, which Harry himself has acknowledged. The commentator pointed out that Harry had previous relationships that didn’t last, partly because the women involved didn’t want to face the intense scrutiny that comes with royal life. Arbiter concluded by sharing his personal view that Harry may have rushed into his marriage with Meghan.
