The singer was one of the night’s early acts at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena on Sunday (November 10). He performed his hit single ‘Beautiful Things,’ nominated in the Best Song category. Boone’s performance opened with a dramatic entrance from the ceiling as he played the piano and concluded with an acrobatic leap from a platform, landing on his feet after an impressive overhead flip.
Later in the ceremony, Boone accepted the award for ‘Best New’ and teased fans about his upcoming album during his acceptance speech, urging them to “get ready.”
Boone later expressed his gratitude, saying that he hadn’t anticipated winning and hadn’t prepared a speech. He shared that he hadn’t been in music for very long and hadn’t expected this to be his path, but he found his voice, passion, and career a few years ago. Boone credited his manager, Jeff Burns, saying that Jeff had been by his side every day, supporting him in everything he did.
He then thanked his fans, promising to give back to them for their support, and told them to “get ready” for his upcoming album.
Boone’s debut album, Fireworks & Rollerblades, was released in April of this year via Night Street and Warner Records, featuring ‘Beautiful Things’ and its follow-up singles ‘Slow It Down’ and ‘Pretty Slowly.’
This year’s MTV EMAs, hosted by Rita Ora for a record-breaking third time, included live performances from artists like RAYE, Shawn Mendes, Teddy Swims, The Warning, LE SSERAFIM, Peso Pluma, Tyla, Busta Rhymes, and Pet Shop Boys.
