Fans Thrilled as Playboi Carti and The Weeknd Make Unexpected Appearance at Camp Flog Gnaw 2024

Playboi Carti brought The Weeknd on stage during his Camp Flog Gnaw set on Sunday, November 17. Carti closed the festival with a high-energy performance lasting just over 30 minutes, featuring tracks like ‘Backr00ms,’ ‘2024’ and ‘EvilJordan’—unofficial singles rumoured to appear on his much-anticipated third album, I AM MUSIC. He also performed his verses from Future and Metro Boomin’s ‘Type S**t’ and Tyler, the Creator’s ‘Earfquake’ from IGOR.

The Atlanta rapper wrapped up his set with his latest single, ‘Timeless,’ which features The Weeknd. Initially performing solo, Carti was later joined by the Canadian superstar, who casually walked on stage in an all-black outfit to deliver his part of the track.

This surprise collaboration marked their second live performance of ‘Timeless,’ following its debut at The Weeknd’s livestream event in São Paulo two months ago. The duo also treated fans to a rendition of ‘FE!N,’ Carti’s hit with Travis Scott. Produced by Pharrell, ‘Timeless’ is Carti and The Weeknd’s second official collaboration, the first being the disco-pop track ‘Popular,’ featuring Madonna, from The Idol soundtrack.

Camp Flog Gnaw, the two-day festival founded by Tyler, the Creator, celebrated its 10th anniversary at Los Angeles’ iconic Dodger Stadium. The star-studded line-up included Erykah Badu, Doechii, André 3000, Action Bronson, Sexyy Red, Kaytranada, and more.

Another highlight of the weekend was R&B sensation SZA joining Doechii during her set to perform their 2020 remix of ‘Persuasive.’
