Finneas And Billie Eilish Discuss Sibling Bond as He Launches Solo Career Again
Finneas and Billie Eilish share a deep bond as siblings and creative collaborators, with Finneas being the driving force behind all of Eilish’s music. Despite his busy schedule, Finneas has managed to complete his second solo album, ‘For Cryin’ Out Loud’.
In a recent episode of Spotify’s vodcast ‘Countdown To’, Eilish takes on the role of interviewer, diving into Finneas’ thoughts on the new album. Finneas explains, “I think it’s important to separate your taste from what you have to express. It’s really not about you.” When Eilish asks what he hopes people take away from the album, he humorously remarks, “I’m sort of convinced I have no fans. Some of your superfans are so intense that I’m just the expansion pack.”

Despite his modesty, Finneas was surprised to see that all three of his shows in support of the album have sold out. He’s set to perform in Los Angeles, New York, and Kingston Upon Thames, offering intimate performances to showcase his latest work.
The duo reflected on their creative process, often jamming together. Eilish shared, “For anyone who has never jammed with friends, it is so fun,” adding that most of her jam sessions are with Finneas. He agreed, saying, “The reason I did it that way was to have fun,” contrasting his approach to his debut album ‘The Optimist’.

Finneas also revealed that his favourite songwriting moments have been working on Eilish’s tracks, particularly “What Was I Made For?” which he found to be a deeply inspiring project. He also enjoyed collaborating on Charli XCX’s “Guess” remix, featuring Eilish.
Eilish admits it’s been “sad and hard” to watch Finneas step back from their usual collaborations to focus on his own music, but also acknowledges it’s been a relief seeing him enjoy the process.
