This latest entry marks the fourth main chapter in the popular looter-shooter series, following 2019’s Borderlands 3 and 2022’s Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. While Wonderlands leaned into a whimsical, fantasy-inspired vibe, Borderlands 4 appears to be taking a more grounded, sci-fi-driven direction.
The trailer release also comes on the heels of this year’s live-action Borderlands film, which struggled to make an impression with critics.
