‘Frozen 3’ Set for Major Holiday Release: Get Ready for a Chilling Adventure

Following the big reveals at last weekend’s D23 Expo, Disney has claimed key dates on the release calendar for two of its upcoming animated films. According to Deadline, Pixar’s new original movie ‘Hoppers’ is set to debut on March 2026, while the highly anticipated ‘Frozen 3’ is scheduled for release over the American Thanksgiving weekend on November 2027.

As of now, the 2026 release calendar isn’t very crowded, but ‘Hoppers’ will face some tough competition from Warner Bros.’ animated adaptation of ‘The Cat in the Hat’, featuring voices from Bill Hader, Quinta Brunson, and Matt Berry, which is also slated for that date.

Given how far off both releases are, it’s possible one of the studios might shift dates to avoid direct competition. On the other hand, the 2027 schedule is relatively open, with only a few films slated for November, including ‘Frozen 3’, an untitled Marvel Studios film, and Melissa McCarthy’s holiday comedy ‘Margie Claus’. With ‘Frozen 3’ following in the footsteps of its wildly successful predecessors, which together have grossed $2.7 billion globally, it’s likely that other family-oriented films will steer clear of its release date.

Details about ‘Frozen 3’ remain scarce, though it was revealed at D23 that the film will lead into ‘Frozen 4’, and the first piece of concept art was also shared. While it’s expected that Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel), Kristoff (Jonathan Groff), Olaf (Josh Gad), and the rest of the beloved characters will return, the plot and cast details are still under wraps.

Conversely, more information is available about ‘Hoppers’, which will follow a child prodigy who transfers her mind into a robotic beaver to explore the animal world. The film will feature the voices of Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan, and Piper Curda.

Disney is enjoying a successful year in animation, with ‘Inside Out 2’ breaking box office records. The next animated release on their slate is ‘Moana 2’, arriving this Thanksgiving.
