G-Eazy’s new ‘I WANNA ROCK’ totally slays!

G- Eazy drops his new single “I Wanna Rock” featuring Gunna from his new EP “Scary Nights” which released on October 18. G-Eazy is getting back at Halsey with his not so subtle diss at his ex, singer/songwriter Halsey in the new music video and his rap for the track.

The artist takes a dig at his collaborative track “Him & I” with Halsey back in 2017. G-Eazy goes off with his rap, “Not a one-hit wonder, this is why I’m hot/No Limit, all I got is Me, Myself & I/When we said it’s her and I, that shit was a lie”.

This is not the first time that an artist has dissed their ex with new hit music. Let’s go back and take a look at the Top 5 songs which were a result of a nasty breakup:

Without Me – Halsey:
Halsey’s breakup with G-Eazy produced the hit song “Without Me” back in 2018. The music video features a look alike of G-Eazy and draws a plot of the relationship between the two artists.

Wrecking Ball – Miley Cyrus:
This was the most talked about song after its release and became a breakup anthem for many. Miley Cyrus penned the song down after her breakup with actor Liam Hemsworth back in 2013. The couple reunited much later and tied the knot in a hush hush wedding early this year. They announced their split just a few months after their marriage in September.

We Are Never Getting Back Together – Taylor Swift:
Swift is no stranger to writing songs about her breakups and channeling the heartbreak of love failed into her music. Swift wrote the song “We Are Never Getting Back Together” about her ex, actor Jake Gyllenhaal, and with all the cheeky remarks about that specific relationship, the track became a relatable break-up tune to groove to!

Heart Wants What It Wants – Selena Gomez:
Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber were the most talked about couple back in the days. After having dated for on and off for many years, Selena put out “Heart Wants What It Wants” revealing to listeners her emotional and not so happy journey in the relationship. The vulnerability displayed in the song was applauded by many, giving fans company in their difficult times, too. Things finally ended between the two artists in 2018.

Love Yourself – Justin Bieber:
Bieber too released a post breakup track titled “Love Yourself” in 2015. The pop superstar dove head-first into a string of relationships post the Jelena phase and though we may not know the specifics of exactly who the song takes a dig at, one thing’s for sure – his words cut deep. He takes a dig at the mysterious ex with the lyrics “My mama don’t like you, she likes everyone”.
The singer is now churning sweet love tunes because all’s well that ends well as he is now happily married with model Hailey Rhodes Bieber.

Subtle is surely not these artists’ strong suit, but boy, do they release really good breakup songs!
