George R.R. Martin’s ‘In The Lost Lands’ Movie Gets Official Release Date
The long-awaited fantasy movie ‘In the Lost Lands’ directed by George R.R. Martin, has finally been given a release date. The ‘Game of Thrones’ author revealed that the film, which stars Milla Jovovich and Dave Bautista, will be released on 28th February, 2025. The film, which Paul W.S. Anderson directed, is based on Martin’s eponymous short tale.
Martin urged supporters to mark the release date on their calendars in a recent article on his Not a Blog website. He also talked about his experience authoring ‘In the Lost Lands’, admitting that although he had thought about extending Gray Alys’s story, he never did. Martin did, however, imply that he would return to the role in a follow-up if the film does well.

The Movie ‘In the Lost Lands’, originally published in the 1982 anthology ‘AMAZONS II’, tells the story of a queen who hires Jovovich’s character, the witch Gray Alys, to travel to the Lost Lands in quest of magical power to satisfy her greatest longing. Boyce (Bautista) goes with Alys, and the two of them face dangerous obstacles and adversaries along the way. Arly Jover (Blade), Simon Lööf (Threesome), Fraser James (Terminator: Dark Fate), Amara Okereke (Red Rose), and Deirdre Mullins (The Couple Next Door) are among the film’s impressive supporting cast members.
Martin’s ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series, which inspired HBO’s ‘Game of Thrones’, is his most well-known work, although he also wrote many books and short stories. He has received numerous honours for his contributions to the fantasy genre throughout the years, including admission into the New Jersey Hall of Fame and a Locus Award for Best Fantasy Novel.

Martin’s ‘Game of Thrones’ universe is still vibrant, even though his earlier works continue to pique interest for possible adaptations. Seasons three and four of ‘House of the Dragon’ have been approved by HBO, and ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’, a spin-off series, will debut in 2025.
Fans may relive ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘House of the Dragon’ on Max while they wait for the February 2025, premiere of ‘In the Lost Lands’.
