Gerard Piqué Finally Talks About His Break-up With Shakira, Says “I Want to be Faithful to Myself”

After a tumultuous high-profile break-up with Shakira, Gerard Piqué talked about it for the first time ever in a recent interview! The couple were together for more than a decade before calling it quits.
“I won’t say, I don’t want to,” Piqué said when asked about how the break-up affected him. Instead, he spoke about the two sons he shares with Shakira, Milan and Sasha.
“Everyone has their responsibility to do what’s best for their kids,” he said. “It’s about protecting them. That’s the job of all parents with their kids. That’s what I’m focused on and that’s my role as a father.”
Piqué also spoke about the way the media portrayed him after the break-up, saying, “The problem is how people perceive things or how the press packages it. I’m still doing what I want. I want to be faithful to myself. I’m not gonna waste money on cleaning up my image. The people that I love and worry about are the people that know me. The rest, I don’t care. I’m putting my energy on the people that are closest to me and giving them what I have. I’m very happy. There’s been changes in my life and I’ve known how to preserve that happiness.”
On the other hand, Shakira does not want to keep the affair private! She took a hard-hitting aim at Piqué on her Bizarrap collab ‘BZRP Music Sessions #53’. The song peaked at No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart and broke 14 Guinness World Records.
