Ghost Unveils New Comic Book Series Co-Written by Frontman
Ghost has revealed a new comic book series titled Sister Imperator, co-written by the band’s frontman, Tobias Forge. The Swedish metal group shared the announcement over the weekend via social media, introducing the four-part mini-series created in collaboration with Dark Horse Comics.
The story explores the origins of Sister Imperator, a fictional figure portrayed as the esteemed representative of the Clergy and the mastermind behind Ghost’s sinister operations.
The first installment of the series is set for release on March 5, though release dates for the subsequent issues remain undisclosed. Further details about the project can be found on the Dark Horse Comics website.
In addition to Tobias Forge, the series features contributions from co-writer Corinna Bechko, known for Avatar: Adapt or Die, artist Puste (The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries), colourist Thiago Rocha (Kill All Immortals), and cover artist Mikael Eriksson.
This comic book is the latest expansion of Ghost’s elaborate fictional narrative, which has been developed over the years through various creative projects, including the band’s debut concert film Rite Here Rite Now. Directed by Forge and filmmaker Alex Ross Perry, the film connects thematically to the band’s storytelling.

Perry previously mentioned that Ghost’s overarching narrative acts as a companion to their music, likening it to a moon orbiting a planet. He explained that while the songs and themes align with the band’s artistic vision, they do not constitute a rock opera but rather offer fans an additional layer of storytelling.
In other news, Ghost has also announced a world tour scheduled for 2025, with performances planned across the UK, Europe, and North America.
