Glenn Close Shares How Her Iconic Cruella Laugh Once Made a Little Girl Cry
Although Glenn Close has had a successful career, her most well-known role for many younger fans is that of the legendary Cruella de Vil from ‘101 Dalmatians’.
The 77-year-old actress talked about her most memorable roles during her visit to The View, revealing that kids frequently know her as the notorious Disney villain. She described one amusing but somewhat regrettable incident in which she imitated Cruella’s trademark nasty laugh for a young admirer. The young child was so terrified by the chuckle that she reenacted for the show’s guests that she started crying.
Close reassured viewers that since she loves animals, there was no reason to be afraid. Pip, her dog, even sat with her at the interview table.

During her presence, the actress also relived less dramatic events, such as her portrayal of J.D. Vance’s grandmother in the movie adaptation of his bestseller, ‘Hillbilly Elegy’. She admired the generosity of Vance’s family’s time and recalled meeting them throughout filming. Close said that she wasn’t sure how Vance had changed since the memoir’s 2016 publication, but she did comment on how power can transform, calling it a “powerful aphrodisiac.”
Beginning with her 1982 début in ‘The World According to Garp’, Close’s career has spanned several decades. She is still regarded as one of the most renowned actresses of her time, having received multiple honours and eight Oscar nominations. Close expressed how excited she is to be working and taking on new challenges as she gets closer to 80. She underlined her wish to stay away from cliches, stating that she looks for parts that challenge her creativity.

She co-stars with Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz in the upcoming action-comedy ‘Back in Action’. For the picture, which has a lot of action without the gory violence, Close disclosed that she did her own stunts. She praised the film’s emphasis on exciting scenes without a lot of bloodshed and called the experience enjoyable.
Soon the OTT will begin streaming ‘Back in Action’ on 17th January.
