Gory Horror Film Scene Causes Walkouts And Vomiting at U.K. Premiere

The recent premiere of ‘Terrifier 3’, the latest entry in Damien Leone's horror-slasher series featuring the sadistic killer clown, has sparked significant reactions among viewers in the United Kingdom. 

According to film distributor Signature Entertainment, reports emerged of 11 audience members walking out during the screening, with one individual reportedly vomiting. The distributor took to social media to offer support, stating, "If the #Terrifier3 event impacted you. Please let us know if you need more support at this time."

Alongside this, a warning was displayed in the theatre regarding "extreme violence and excessive gore." The statement advised anyone feeling unwell to approach a trained staff member on site. 

Reports indicated that the majority of the walkouts occurred during the film’s opening scene, highlighting the intense nature of the film. This response is not unprecedented for the ‘Terrifier’ franchise, which has a history of eliciting strong reactions from audiences.

The ‘Terrifier’ series, which began with the original film in 2016, has consistently pushed the boundaries of horror, with ‘Terrifier 2’ notably seeing a surge in box office performance amid reports of audience members passing out and vomiting during screenings. Leone addressed these reactions on social media, affirming that such reports were "100% legit," countering claims that they were part of the film's marketing strategy.

In France, the intensity of the film has led to a ban on minors under 18 attending screenings, comparable to the U.S. NC-17 rating. As with previous entries, ‘Terrifier 3’ follows the character Art the Clown as he terrorises unsuspecting victims, with actress Lauren LaVera reprising her role from the earlier films. The film is set against the backdrop of Christmas Eve, adding a chilling twist to the festive season.
