Grimes has hinted that the songs on her forthcoming album, 'Book 1,' will serve as her girl group debut.
The artist has lately informed fans that the follow-up to her 2020 album ‘Miss Anthropocene’ is finished and may be released in two volumes.

On Twitter, Grimes posted a picture of her 'AI girl group', NPC and hinted at their contribution to the album. “Working on my girl group debut,” she tweeted. “Their first solo songs will be on my new album.”
'A D**g From God', a Chris Lake collaboration that was shared last year, is the only single that NPC has so far made available.

"The group is a vehicle for experimentation in new technologies as they become available such as generative characters and music, different types of animation, AI-assisted art as well as spiritual technology in that Grimes can create as other people in order to reduce the psychic pain of being in the public eye," according to a press release from the time.

Grimes has shared the singles ‘Player of Games’ and the manga-inspired ‘Shinigami Eyes’ after the release of ‘Miss Anthropocene.’ The video for the former, featured cameos from BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Dorian Electra and Instagram influencer Ryon Wu.
