The highly anticipated continuation of Showtime’s ‘Ray Donovan’ series has evolved into a new project with an impressive cast in the works. According to Deadline, the new show, tentatively titled ‘Guy Ritchie’s The Associates’, is set in London and aims to recruit top talent like Tom Hardy, Helen Mirren, and Pierce Brosnan. Hardy is being considered for the role of Harry, a dangerous yet charming fixer, while Mirren and Brosnan are expected to portray the family’s powerful matriarch and patriarch. Though ‘The Associates’ started as a potential ‘Ray Donovan’ spin-off, it is no longer connected to the franchise.
‘Guy Ritchie’s The Associates’ centres around a wealthy and influential family in London involved in high-stakes criminal operations. The show will delve into family dynamics, power struggles, and the unpredictable nature of shaping reputations, brokering alliances, and managing betrayals. There’s no certainty of success in their world, as the future remains uncertain.

The potential cast is stacked with talent. Hardy, widely known for playing Eddie Brock/Venom in the ‘Venom’ film series, is set to appear in the final instalment of the trilogy this October. Mirren, an acting legend with a six-decade career, was recently seen in Taylor Sheridan’s ‘1923’, a prequel to ‘Yellowstone’, and will next appear in ‘Thursday Murder Club’ alongside Brosnan. Brosnan, famous for his role as James Bond in four films between 1995 and 2002, will also reunite with Hardy, having previously worked with him in ‘RocknRolla’, which Ritchie directed.
The series will follow two generations of gangsters navigating their businesses and personal relationships, focusing on the “fixer” they call upon when things spiral out of control. Guy Ritchie directs and executive produces the one-hour drama, with Ronan Bennett writing and executive producing alongside David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, and Ivan Atkinson.
No premiere date has been set yet, but stay tuned for updates.
