Hailie Jade Reveals She ‘Audibly Sobbed’ Over Eminem’s New Music and ‘Can’t’ Listen Again
Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade Scott, had a deeply emotional reaction to his latest album. On the episode of her ‘Just a Little Shady’ podcast, Hailie, 28, shared that some tracks from her dad’s new album, ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)’, moved her to tears.
While discussing the music video for ‘Somebody Save Me’ featuring Jelly Roll, which was released in August, Hailie told co-host Brittany Ednie that the video left her so emotional that she couldn’t bring herself to watch it again. “I watched it in its entirety, and I don’t think I can do it again,” she said, admitting that she cries every time she hears the song.

‘Somebody Save Me’ touches on Eminem’s struggles with addiction and includes an entire verse dedicated to Hailie, where he apologizes for missing important moments in her life. Another song, ‘Temporary’ featuring Skylar Grey, which includes recordings of Hailie as a toddler, also evoked a strong emotional response from her. “I audibly sobbed for both songs, but especially ‘Temporary,’” Hailie revealed.
Reflecting on the songs, Hailie acknowledged how her parents shielded her from the worst of their struggles when she was growing up. Now, as an adult, she finds it “scary” to think about what could have happened.

Hailie also admitted that watching the ‘Somebody Save Me’ video, which includes home videos of her and her sisters as kids, is difficult. While she appreciates seeing those clips, the emotional weight of the songs makes it hard for her to listen to them anymore, especially as she gets older.
