Halle Berry Radiated Old Hollywood-Inspired Look at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival

Halle Berry lit up the red carpet at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival in a dazzling ensemble adorned with diamonds and rubies, exuding classic Old Hollywood glamour.

Halle Berry, who served on the festival's jury this year, showed up at the Chopard Universe Gala Evening in a stunning deep burgundy satin gown.  The strapless style has a dramatic high slit down the middle of the skirt and a constructed corset bodice.  The overall silhouette was given a dramatic, couture touch by a sculptural element at the hip.

The Oscar-winning actress accessorised the outfit with a matte nude lip, rich burgundy-toned eye makeup, and a wavy hairstyle with a vintage vibe.  The stylish combination was accentuated with ruby and diamond rings, sparkling chandelier earrings, and pointed-toe shoes in a matching shade.

Just the day before Halle Berry turned heads in a custom Gucci gown at the Cannes Presidential Dinner and Kering Women in Motion Awards.  She maintained her trend of eye-catching fashion moments throughout the festival with that ensemble, which included a semi-sheer crystal column dress covered in an elaborate circular pattern.

For the premiere of ‘The Phoenician Scheme’, Halle Berry also wore a stunning Chanel suit with a flower design to the red carpet.  Her more elegant appearance was modernised by the pastel colours and black accents on the long-sleeved jacket and wide-leg pants.

The 58-year-old actress said behind the scenes that there were challenges associated with getting her costume ready for the festival.  Halle Berry emphasized the necessity of selecting outfits that capture the sophisticated and elegant ambiance of Cannes, acknowledging its significance as a worldwide platform.  Berry accepted the approach in spite of the difficulty, characterising it as an enjoyable and deliberate attempt to capture the essence of Cannes.

Halle Berry made news earlier in the festival when she wore a billowing black and pink Celia Kritharioti gown with a dramatic high-low skirt and train during the premiere of ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’.  Although the ensemble was striking, it might have eschewed the recently revised dress rule for the festival.

Stricter red carpet rules were implemented this year by Cannes, which forbade huge trains, oversized clothing, and any kind of nudity because they were said to impede crowd flow and seating arrangements.  Halle Berry said that she had to alter her original opening night gown by designer Gaurav Gupta because of its oversized train, although she eventually complied with the regulations. This demonstrated her dedication to striking a balance between her particular style and festival requirements.

Halle Berry continues to enthrall fans with each appearance, fusing classic sophistication with fashion-forward selections at one of the most prominent film events in the world.
