Halsey delivered an electrifying debut of their latest single ‘Ego’ at New York's UBS Arena during a standout performance. The pop star, known for their bold stage presence, embraced a pop-punk vibe, sporting a white collared shirt, black tie, oversized denim shorts, and lace-up boots.
Joining Halsey on stage was Victoria De Angelis from Måneskin, playing bass, as they performed in a faux garage setting, reminiscent of a classic rock anthem scene.

Opening with a powerful line, Halsey sang, "I think that I should try to kill my ego/'Cause if I don't, my ego might kill me," while strumming a guitar, delivering raw energy to the audience. The performance drew parallels to the garage band scenes in the cult classic ‘Freaky Friday’, creating a nostalgic, rebellious atmosphere.
Their new single, ‘Ego’, was released alongside its music video, written and directed by Halsey. The visual features two distinct versions of Halsey – one feminine, one androgynous – in a tense, symbolic showdown. The two characters chase, confront, and try to overpower each other, with the femme version ultimately gaining the upper hand.
The track, with its '90s alt-rock influence, explores Halsey's internal battles and how they navigate public perception. It's a raw, emotional glimpse into the singer's personal struggles.
Halsey recently announced their fifth studio album, ‘The Great Impersonator’, describing it as a "confessional concept album" that dives deep into identity and self-reflection, further highlighted by a captivating trailer that spans their career.
