Halsey Drops Aesthetic New Video For ‘Dominic’s Interlude’

Halsey just arrived on the scene with a little surprise for her fans. It’s the official visualizer for her “Manic” cut, ‘Dominic’s Interlude’. The video stands at just about one and a half minutes, but proves to be a real treat to the eyes.

For starters ‘Dominic’s Interlude’ features a gentle, funky piano riff carrying the track forward. Laying on this foundation are warped, dreamy vocals courtesy Dominic and Halsey. Now, if you’re wondering who Dominic Fike is, he’s an American singer-songwriter who arrived on the scene in 2017. His EP, ‘Don’t Forget About Me, Demos’ created quite the buzz, invariably kickstarting his steady rise to fame.

The Aesthetics & Themes Binding ‘Dominic’s Interlude’

Now, coming to the music video for ‘Dominic’s Interlude’. It features a simple dance piece performed bang in the middle of a tennis court. We see Halsey falling back on a graceful contemporary dance routine. In fact, it’s quite reminiscent of the one seen in music video for her track, ‘Clementine’. The video also proves to be quite the aesthetic treat. It sees both stars and dancers dressed in different shades of green, mirroring the colour palette of the tennis court.

Halsey broke down the process behind crafting these interludes, explaining, “Every album of mine has what we call a trio: three songs smack in the middle that serve as a transition and are meant to be listened to in succession. On Manic, it’s ‘Forever(Is A Long Time),’ ‘Dominic’s Interlude,’ and ‘I Hate Everybody,” she explained.

“On ‘Forever’, I’m falling in love and then I start getting in my own head. And now I’m sabotaging this relationship and feeling paranoid, this is going to be bad and then Dominic tells me, on ‘Dominic’s Interlude,’ I’d better go tell my man he’s got bad news coming. The interludes represent different relationships in my life: Dom represents brotherly love,” Halsey shared.

In other news, Halsey is also heavily involved in urging people to vote during the upcoming U.S. elections. In fact, just this week she even sat down with the Senator, Bernie Sanders for an in-depth discussion on the current economic crisis and climate change.
