Halsey to Create Dark Comedy TV Show Titled ‘Bloodlust’
Halsey is set to make her screenwriting debut with Bloodlust, a dark comedy TV series for OTT. The announcement came on December 10, when Halsey shared the news via Variety and posted on social media, expressing excitement about the project. She mentioned she was eager to start the journey with a talented team, adding that there would be more to share later, but for now, there was work to be done.
Halsey, who released The Great Impersonator earlier this year, will be the creator, writer, and executive producer of Bloodlust. However, she will not be appearing on screen. Ti West, the director of MaXXXine, is on board as the director and executive producer. In that horror film, Halsey played Tabby Martin, a p**n star and friend of Mia Goth’s character, Maxine Minx.

Earlier, Halsey contributed to a new version of Juice WRLD’s 2018 hit ‘All Girls Are The Same’ alongside Nicki Minaj.
On her fifth album, Kirsten S. noted that Halsey used a mix of genres, from post-hardcore to synthpop, to explore their complex sense of identity. The album, created during a time when Halsey was battling multiple life-threatening illnesses, was described as raw, passionate, and a departure from mainstream pop, marking the bravest work they had ever made. Emma Wilkes, writing about the track ‘Lonely is The Muse,’ emphasized the emotional power of Halsey’s performance, comparing the song’s intensity to an Evanescence-style anthem. The track was seen as Halsey reasserting herself as the main character in her own story, both angry and artistic.
