Halsey has released a new music video for her song “Girl Is A Gun,” which is set in a vibrant period drama. The song is from the singer’s most recent album, ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power,’ which came out in August 2021.
Colin Tilley directed the video, which depicts Halsey in a voluminous, corseted green dress and a large purple and green wig. She bowls through the streets of an old-fashioned town with a group of female companions, drinking, dancing, and knocking over apple carts. They ride out of town on horses near the end of the video, with just Halsey visible at the end, perched perilously on the edge of a rocky precipice. Check out the video for “Girl Is a Gun” below.
Halsey is set to act in a new film with Euphoria’s Sydney Sweeney, which was announced on 4th February. The duo will star in National Anthem, which will be the directorial debut of American poet, critic and screenwriter Tony Tost. It comes after Halsey and Sweeney were cast in The Player’s Table, a drama series based on Jessica Goodman’s best-selling novel They Wish They Were Us, which was announced last year.
Meanwhile, Halsey will begin her North American Love and Power tour in May. On the months-long tour, the singer will be joined by Beabadoobee, PinkPantheress, Wolf Alice, The Marias, and Abby Roberts, who will perform only in outdoor settings.
She will accept the Innovation Award at the BandLab NME Awards 2022 in March. In an interview with NME in November, Halsey stated that she “wasn’t anticipating” the prize and was “quite surprised” to receive it.
“But it’s really, really awesome – I think you start to get really sad and nervous about how your music connects when you’re not around to bring it to life and to know that it’s still resonating is really, really cool,” they added.
