Halsey has spoken out following her recent hospitalisation, stating that she is dealing with a number of challenges but will not be stopping her tour this year. Following a severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis) linked to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Sjogren’s disease, mast cell activation syndrome and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, the artist was recently admitted to the hospital.

Halsey, who can be seen wearing a cardiac monitor in a series of videos posted to her Instagram Story on10th May, detailed how she has suffered with her health. The singer stated that she does not want her fans to be concerned and that she has begun treatment while preparing for her next tour. Halsey added that she is extremely excited and optimistic that she’ll be able to accomplish it in a healthy way, which will allow her to give it all for her fans.

The ‘Love And Power’ tour, which is in support of Halsey’s 2021 album ‘If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power,’ will kickstart on 17th May in Florida and runs until 9th July in California.

In the shows ahead, Halsey mentioned that she would be delving into this weird body-horror about everything she has been experiencing and feeling like her body is rebelling against her a little bit. It started with her being pregnant and has now evolved into something totally beyond pregnancy, beyond post-partum.

Last week, Halsey joined a growing list of artists, including Phoebe Bridgers, Garbage and Questlove, who have spoken out against the US Supreme Court’s recent secret vote to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, which legalised abortion.

In a lengthy post on Twitter, Halsey wrote that this is one of the most significant events we will witness in our lifetimes. The effects of this decision will spiral into lethal situations for our entire country, most seriously impacting people of colour, rural areas and socio-economically impacted communities. The time to take action is now.

The artist urged people to rally and donate to local charities, as well as becoming more involved in municipal legislation in the United States.
