Happy Birthday J-Hope: ARMY’s Sunshine
The world is celebrating another whole year of BTS rapper and ‘hyung’ J-Hope’s positivity and infectious laughter. J-Hope, also lovingly called Hobi by fans, turns 26 years old today.
On the eve of his birthday, J-Hope had a chat with ARMY on VLive and WeVerse and he gave them a tour of his room where he showed them his prized Billboard poster and his ‘Chicken Nugget’ pillow.
Hobi Sunshine – He’s Our Hope!
Aside from being one of the best dancers of BTS, Jung Hoseok aka J-Hope stands out as the most cheerful member of the boy band. His infectious energy and sunny disposition earned him the nickname Sunshine.
With his rapping talents, skillful performance and his goofy personality, J-hope enjoys a dedicated fandom of his own. He is also the one who always takes charge when it comes to dancing sessions but reverts back to his happy-go-lucky self during interviews.
J-Hope hails from Gwangju, South Korea, where he lived with his parents and older sister. Before his debut, he was part of the underground dance team Neuron. Primarily a dancer, he began training as an idol, dabbling in rapping and singing as well.
Hobi was the third member to join the group as a trainee after leader RM and rapper Suga. The three formed the ‘rap line’ of BTS. Here’s an interesting fact. While the formation of BTS was still in the works, J-Hope had decided to leave the group, but leader Kim Namjoon (RM) convinced the management Big Hit Entertainment that they will not be able to make it without him. An intelligent decision as we cannot imagine BTS without their Hobi!
BTS members have often praised J-Hope for being their ray of sunshine. RM has said that J-Hope will always brighten up the mood for everyone, even when things aren’t looking good. He often makes a fool of himself to put a smile on other people’s faces.
Mxmtoon Reacts To Hobi’s Mention
During a YouTube livestream celebrating his 26th birthday, J-Hope played ‘Queen’ by singer Mxmtoon. The song was a recent collaboration with Australian artist G Flip. A fan posted the clip to Twitter, and Mxmtoon posted her overwhelmed reaction to being mentioned by her idol.
“WHATTAGAGWGQGAVA WHAT AHETA WHATGWWVA,” she wrote in a tweet, accompanied by the clip. “This is literally so insane to me, I’ve been following BTS for so long and i cannot even fathom the fact that a group that i look up to so much has even listened to me for a split second…$2))2)2 IM SHORT CIRCUITING.”
G Flip also shared her excitement, simply tweeting, “OMGGGGGG @bts_bighit <3.”
