Harrison Ford Shares Thoughts on Freedom and Happiness in Jeep’s Super Bowl Ad

Both in life and on the big screen, where he has been a legendary presence for almost 60 years, Harrison Ford has always blazed his trail.
At eighty-two, he now appears in a provocative Jeep commercial that aired during the fourth quarter of Super Bowl 2025. The Owner’s Manual advertisement examines the concepts of happiness, autonomy, and personal choice. According to Ford, it is a contemplation on life that highlights the significance of accepting accountability and control for one’s own path.
The advertisement opens with expansive views of a beautiful mountain backdrop, a meandering dirt road, and an American flag. Rugged and introspective, Ford addresses the camera directly, saying that although life doesn’t come with a handbook, everyone is free to write their own tale. Despite having a Ford last name, he jokes that his Jeep Wrangler 4xe also makes him happy. He admits that his friends, family, and job are the things that offer him the most joy.

Ford was first apprehensive about taking on the project, but he changed his mind when the idea developed and he had the chance to work with filmmaker James Mangold once more. Mangold, who was nominated for an Oscar for ‘A Complete Unknown’, produced ‘The Call of the Wild’ and directed Ford in ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’.
Owner’s Manual adopts a more understated, introspective strategy in contrast to conventional, exuberant Super Bowl advertisements. In one particularly noteworthy instance, Ford recognizes the strength inherent in diversity and the importance of diverse viewpoints by delivering the classic “Jeep Wave,” a tribute to the solidarity among Jeep drivers.

With past collaborations with well-known artists like Bruce Springsteen, Bill Murray, and Eminem, Jeep has a track record of creating a significant impression with its Super Bowl ads. This year, Bob Broderdorf, the CEO of Jeep, praised Ford as the ideal option, emphasizing his spirit of adventure both on and off-screen.
With ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ scheduled for release on 14th February and the return of ‘1923’ on 23rd February, Ford has a full agenda going forward.
