The film, which will be released on 24th June, explores the relationship between the King of Rock and Roll and his manager Colonel Tom Parker (played by Tom Hanks) over the course of 20 years, from the rock and roll icon’s rise to unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of America’s changing cultural landscape and loss of innocence.

Styles said that Elvis was probably the first person he knew apart from his family when he was a kid. As a result, there was something immensely precious about him, therefore he decided to audition for the part.

He also revealed that for the audition, he had to recreate a historic Elvis Las Vegas performance and act out a few scenes. Styles claimed that he didn’t think he looked like Elvis Presley and wasn’t offended when Austin Butler was cast in the part.
