Hasan Minhaj on ‘It Ends With Us’ Filming: ‘Everybody Was Lovely’
Hasan Minhaj recently addressed rumours of tension among the cast of ‘It Ends With Us’. In the romantic drama, Minhaj played Marshall, the husband of Allysa (Jenny Slate) and brother-in-law to Ryle Kincaid (Justin Baldoni).
Following the movie’s release, speculation about on-set drama spread, particularly after Baldoni, who also directed the film, didn’t pose for photos with the cast, including star and producer Blake Lively, at the New York City premiere.
In an interview with Esquire, Minhaj reflected positively on his experience. “I can’t speak to other people’s experience,” he said, adding, “but everybody was very professional and cool to me. It was lovely, and everybody was lovely.” He admitted that he was surprised by the rumours, saying, “What happened? Wait, what’s going on?”

Minhaj also praised Slate, calling her “the best” and comparing her to Lucille Ball for being both hilarious and elegant.
In August, a source told PEOPLE that the alleged behind-the-scenes tension went beyond creative differences between Baldoni and Lively. Another cast member, Brandon Sklenar, who plays Atlas, took to Instagram to defend the film and its female stars against online negativity, emphasizing that the backlash was counterproductive to the movie’s message.

While the potential for a sequel adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s ‘It Starts With Us’ remains uncertain, Baldoni has hinted that Lively would be the ideal director if it moves forward.
‘It Ends With Us’ is now available in theatres and for digital rental or purchase.
