Heidi Klum Proudly Supports Daughter Leni in Upcycling Her Iconic Outfits
Leni, Heidi Klum’s daughter, is more than delighted to share her closet. The 51-year-old supermodel said she was happy to see her 20-year-old daughter re-wear items from her closet and that it makes her happy to see Leni give these classic ensembles a new twist at the Earthshot Prize Awards in Cape Town. Heidi thinks that upcycling and repurposing clothing is a great way to approach fashion, especially when it comes to transferring it to the next generation.
Last year, in a throwback, Leni attended her prom wearing her mother’s black, strapless dress from the 1990s, which Heidi first wore to a Comic Relief event in 1998. Heidi offered her support when Leni posted the outfit on Instagram. Heidi talked about how important it is to utilize the things in one’s own closet while thinking back on times like this. Reusing clothing is the most sustainable way to appreciate fashion, she said, acknowledging that it used to be the norm for people to wear an outfit just once.

Heidi paid homage to classic style during the event by donning a beautiful vintage orange Halston dress. She highlighted the significance of the occasion for her and commended Prince William’s Earthshot initiative, which distributes funds for environmental innovation. She expressed her continued dedication to environmental awareness by expressing her pleasure about the chance to learn about sustainable fishing with Prince William.
As a mother, Heidi also talked about how important sustainability is to her. As she considered the future of her children, she urged everyone to acknowledge the indisputable implications of climate change. Having personally observed environmental shifts around the world, she hopes that others will recognize how urgent it is to preserve the planet for future generations.
