RiRi is SUCH A Tease!

Looks like teasing fans is becoming a favourite pastime for artista and Rihanna is no exception! The superstar singer and fashion mogul shared a short video on Instagram that would seemingly give fans a glimpse into the sound of her upcoming ninth album, make them lose their minds and also leave them in splits – it managed to do all this and still left them wanting more!

“Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it,” RiRi captioned the clip perfectly, which shows a small white dog hilariously bouncing its head to House of Pain’s classic hit “Jump Around.” The IG video did not feature any new music from Rihanna or a possible release date for her forthcoming album. So it seems like the wait continues.

In December 2018, a fan asked Rihanna in an Instagram comment when her next album would arrive. “2019,” the singer replied. It’s been almost four years since she launched her last album, “Anti.” Since then, she signed a worldwide deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing and has been busy juggling other projects, from her multi million-dollar makeup line Fenty Beauty to her newly launched lingerie line, Savage X Fenty.

R9, seemingly the title of Rihanna’s next album is a reference to the fact that the project will be her ninth studio album. The Barbados native spoke in an interview in October about her album and said, “It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae but you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks. Reggae always feels right to me,” she added. “It’s in my blood. It doesn’t matter how far or long removed I am from that culture, or my environment that I grew up in; it never leaves. It’s always the same high.”

A long-promised project influenced by her Caribbean roots is yet to materialize, extending the longest album drought of Rihanna’s career and this little peek has left the fans’ minds racing – is R9 the official title of the new album?
