'ily' by Surf Mesa Scores No. 1 A Year Later; Here's How

Breakthrough dance hit, 'ily', by Surf Mesa and Emilee, has made massive waves on music charts world over. The sampled track, initially made a splash on TikTok, being used as the background score for videos there. And, gradually, its impact was felt world over. 

Further, as of today, the track has scored big on the Billboard Hot Dance/ Electronic Songs Chart, soaring to No. 1. But, this peak arrives after a long and arduous climb to the top. 'ily', which was initially released back in 2019, samples the 1967 Frankie Valli hit, 'Can't Take My Eyes Off You'. Following its success online, the track was re-released by Astralwerks and Universal in February, 2020. Further, the track began soaring huge numbers on the radio circuits. 

Now, after 30 long weeks on the chart since its first appearance, the track finally lands No. 1. Further, this score atop the chart offers both artists, Surf Mesa and Emilee their first ever #1 ranking on any Billboard chart.

Further, the track continues to enjoy commercial success world over. 'ily' has officially scored Platinum certifications in Australia, Canada, France, Poland and more. Further, it was awarded a gold certification from RIAA in the United States.
