Inside Madonna’s 66th Birthday Bash at the Luxurious Italian Resort

Madonna rang in her 66th birthday in Italy this week, surrounded by loved ones at a resort known for attracting A-list celebrities. The pop legend celebrated her special day abroad with her twin daughters, Estere and Stella, and her rumoured beau, soccer player Akeem Morris.

Madonna chose to stay at the luxurious Villa TreVille in Positano, the same five-star retreat where Jennifer Lopez vacationed earlier this summer. The stunning property, perched above the Tyrrhenian Sea, was once the summer home of director Franco Zeffirelli and is now owned by Govind Friedland, with Martino Acampora as general manager. Rooms at the villa can fetch over $2,000 per night. Michele Cinque, editor of Positano News, described the resort as “one of the most luxurious and private in the world.”

During her birthday festivities, Madonna embraced the traditional Italian Ferragosto celebrations from the balcony of La Tagliata restaurant in Montepertuso, enjoying fireworks over the Amalfi Coast. The singer, along with around 30 guests, was treated to an exclusive dinner at the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, catered by the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Quattro Passi. The menu, curated by chefs Antonio and Fabrizio Mellino, was inspired by the Mediterranean diet and featured organic vegetables, fresh seafood, and homemade bread, all in line with Madonna’s preference for simple, Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

Signature dishes included mini penne with zucchini and escarole, bruschetta with Sorrento tomatoes, and white grouper with herbs from Monte San Costanzo. For dessert, the group enjoyed traditional Campania region sweets like baba cakes with rum, sfogliatelle, and Sorrento lemon tarts.

The evening continued with a visit to an ancient theatre in Pompeii, where Madonna and her guests watched a performance by a local youth project, Sogno di Volare (Dream of Flying), which is funded by Madonna through her Ray of Light Foundation. The park’s director, Gabriel Zuchtriegel, led them on a guided tour and praised the project for its impact on the local community.
