Irina Shayk has opened up about co-parenting her daughter, Lea, with her ex-partner Bradley Cooper, praising his involvement and dedication as a father. Shayk and Cooper, who began dating in the spring of 2015 and became a high-profile couple, welcomed their daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper in March 2017. Despite keeping their family life private, the former couple has maintained a positive relationship and continues to co-parent effectively after their 2019 split.
In a previous interview with HIGHStyle magazine, Shayk highlighted Cooper’s hands-on approach to parenting, noting that they don’t use a nanny. She described him as a “full-on, hands-on dad,” sharing that Lea once spent almost two weeks on vacation with Cooper without needing to check in with her.

Shayk also touched on their parenting style, explaining that both she and Cooper are quite strict. She mentioned that Lea must say "thank you" after meals and doesn't receive anything without saying "please" or "thank you." Reflecting on her own childhood, Shayk contrasted her modest toys with Lea’s abundance, often sharing stories from her past to teach her daughter about gratitude and the value of simple things.
In an interview with ELLE, Shayk elaborated on their co-parenting dynamic, praising Cooper as the "most amazing dad." She shared that she didn’t fully grasp co-parenting until she experienced it firsthand, emphasizing that when Lea is with her, she is entirely focused on parenting, just as Cooper is when he is with their daughter. For Shayk, co-parenting simply means sharing the responsibilities of parenting.
