Jada Pinkett Smith Opens Up About Her Split With Will Smith And The Oscars Incident 

In a recent interview, Jada Pinkett Smith opened up about two significant events that have been the center of media attention;  her husband Will Smith’s Oscars incident in 2022 and the revelation of their seven-year separation. Jada, an actress well-known for her roles in Hollywood, finally shared her side of the story on these highly publicized matters and spilled the beans about her relationship with Will Smith.

The 2022 Oscars was marred by a shocking incident when Will Smith slapped comedian Chris Rock during the live broadcast. Jada revealed her initial disbelief, recalling, “I was like, ‘There’s no way that Will hit him.’” She thought it was all part of a scripted skit until her husband began to walk back to his seat, and reality set in. This event broke the internet and had almost everyone talking about it.

In addition to addressing the Oscars incident, Jada Pinkett Smith candidly disclosed that she and Will have been living separately since 2016, something that took many by surprise. Jada explained that both of them were trapped in the fantasy of what they thought the other person should be, which eventually led to the decision to live separately. Despite contemplating divorce, Jada emphasized her commitment to her marriage, saying, “I made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce. We will work through… whatever.”

Jada and Will Smith have been married since 1997 and have two children together, Jaden and Willow Smith. Will also has a son, Trey, from his previous marriage. In her interviews, Jada expressed that they are still “figuring it out” and have been engaged in intense efforts to understand what their relationship means to them. Will had previously described their marriage as “open” in a 2021 interview, stating that they were both unhappy with the traditional concept of marriage.
