JC Chasez Joins Darren Criss For Rare *NSYNC Performance

Former *NSYNC star JC Chasez recently made a rare public appearance, performing alongside Darren Criss in a nostalgic throwback to the 2000s boy band era. Their surprise set at Elsie Fest, Broadway’s music festival in New York City, delighted fans with acoustic renditions of *NSYNC classics ‘Bye Bye Bye’ and ‘It’s Gonna Be Me’.

During the performance, Criss playfully teased Chasez, asking, “You still remember the words?” before the pair launched into the beloved hits. This appearance was a treat for fans who fondly remember the boy band’s heyday.

The song ‘Bye Bye Bye’ has experienced a resurgence in pop culture, thanks to its feature in the blockbuster film ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’. The track not only enjoyed renewed popularity but also climbed to No. 8 on Billboard’s Global Excl. U.S. chart in August.

The film's success and the song's renewed popularity also led to a reunion of Chasez with his *NSYNC bandmates Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick, and Joey Fatone at the film's New York premiere. Justin Timberlake was absent due to a scheduling conflict with his European tour.

At the premiere, the band hinted at the possibility of a reunion tour, with the members stating they are “kicking the tires” and exploring potential plans. Additionally, Chasez is working on a new project: a concept album titled ‘Playing With Fire’.

This collaboration with Golden Globe-winning songwriter Jimmy Harry aims to blend electronic pop with classical music, inspired by themes from Frankenstein. Chasez explained that while the project began with themes of technology and artificial intelligence, it evolved to focus on more universal issues such as familial relationships, love, and human nature.
