Jelly Roll Aims For TV Series Role to Make Emmy Return

Jelly Roll has shared his ambition to join a television series, aiming to make future appearances at the Emmys. Speaking on the Red Carpet Live show before the awards ceremony, he described his first experience at the event as “the coolest experience.”

“It’s crazy, man,” Jelly Roll remarked. “I want to be in a TV show now so I can come here every year, dude. I’m calling all my country music friends and telling them ‘we are missing the mark, dude, we gotta be at the Emmys.’”

The country musician and rapper, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, expressed feeling “honoured” to perform during the In Memoriam segment.  “It’s an honour because tonight I’ve been selected to honour some of the greatest storytellers in the business, ever,” he said.

Jelly Roll added, “And I’m a storyteller in my own regard, and I think it’s really cool that in a room full of storytellers, we’re going to use music as a moment to honour some of them and hopefully help.”

Reflecting on the power of music, he noted, “That’s what music is really about, right? Music is medicine. So hopefully someone watching the programme tonight gets helped.”

Currently on tour across the country, Jelly Roll also mentioned that the most frequent question he received on the red carpet was about his wife of eight years, Bunnie Xo.
