Jenna Ortega’s Latest Film Draws Mixed Reactions from Fans

Jenna Ortega is in the news again, but not because of ‘Wednesday’ or her most recent red carpet appearance. The actress just agreed to star with Hollywood icon Robert De Niro in ‘David O Russell’s high-stakes movie ‘Shutout’. Some fans are ecstatic, but others aren’t holding back when they criticise.
The movie centres on De Niro’s character, veteran pool hustler Jake Kejeune, whose love for the game is rekindled once he meets Ortega’s character, Mia, a captivating young prodigy. Jake and Mia enter the harsh world of competitive pool as coaches, where the smallest margins separate success and disaster.
The announcement alone has sparked a flurry of internet reactions, even though the movie hasn’t even started production yet. Fans have expressed dissatisfaction with Jenna Ortega’s recent project choices and questioned her choice of roles. She may be the worst at choosing projects in recent memory, according to one especially direct response. Others said that regardless of how well-known the actors are, this most recent movie doesn’t seem worth defending.

Not all responses, though, were unfavourable. Numerous people supported Jenna Ortega’s choice to collaborate with seasoned filmmaker David O. Russell, who is best known for ‘American Hustle’ and ‘Silver Linings Playbook’. Supporters commended her for accepting a project with such a talented creative team, pointing out that for any actress, being on screen beside De Niro is a significant accomplishment.
There has been a lot of buzz around Jenna Ortega’s movie choices. With a two-star rating from NME, her most recent release, ‘Death Of A Unicorn’, in which she co-stars with Paul Rudd, was met with a lacklustre reception. The review pointed out that although the movie had plenty of humour and gore, not many of the scenes really clicked.

Whatever the reason might be, Jenna Ortega has always been the talk of the town. She isn’t going to slow down anytime soon, as Wednesday season two is approaching and will include newcomers like Steve Buscemi and Lady Gaga in addition to returning cast members Luis Guzmán and Fred Armisen.
One thing is certain: Jenna Ortega keeps taking risks and igniting debate with every part, regardless of whether ‘Shutout’ turns out to be a hit or another contentious chapter in her career.
