Jennie From BLACKPINK Performs ‘Killing Me Softly’ at The Chanel Fashion Show

At Chanel’s Métiers d’art Dakar Show in Tokyo, Japan, the 27-year-old BLACKPINK singer had a shining moment as she took the stage and sang a cover of ‘Killing Me Softly With His Song.’
Singing all alone on stage over an instrumental track, Jennie did justice to Roberta Flack. She looked lovely in long pin curls, a black-and-white box dress and black shoes with the Chanel logo projected on a rainbow screen behind her.

Jennie performed ‘Killing Me Softly’ in a mix with a jazzy, mellow rendition of ‘Fly Me to the Moon.’ The K-pop sensation blew a kiss to the audience and sang, “In other words, I love you,” while drawing an air-heart with her fingers.
The ‘SOLO’ singer additionally sang her own yet to be released song ‘You & Me,’ and told the crowd, “This version of the song I’ll be performing for the very first time for you guys here today, so I hope you guys enjoy.”
Over a soft piano accompaniment, she sang, “Nothing in the world could make me feel/ The way you do, the things you do,” as she gracefully crossed the stage. “I love you and me/ Dancing in the moonlight/ Nobody can see/ It’s just you and me tonight.”

At the 2023 Met Gala, which was inspired by the creations of late designer and Chanel CEO Karl Lagerfeld, Jennie donned a Chanel outfit. She later wore other items from the renowned clothing line last week at Cannes Film Festival, where she and her ‘The Idol’ castmates were present for the international premiere of the musical drama. In the series, which The Weeknd and Sam Levinson of ‘Euphoria’ co-created, Jennie will make her acting debut in a supporting part alongside the ‘Blinding Lights’ singer, Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, Dan Levy and others.
