Jennifer Affleck Reveals She’s Never Met Husband's Famous Cousin Ben Affleck

Jennifer Lynn Affleck is having quite the moment. The ‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ star, 25, recently shared with PEOPLE that her last name has always sparked curiosity, but even more so after her husband Zac’s famous cousin, Ben Affleck announced his divorce from Jennifer Lopez.

In a conversation about the Hulu series, set to premiere on 6th September, Jennifer joked that it's always been "interesting" being a Jennifer Affleck, calling herself the "original."

"What's even crazier is that not only do we share the name Jennifer, but my full name is Jennifer Lynn Affleck, just like JLo’s! She went from Jennifer Lynn Lopez to Jennifer Lynn Affleck when she married Ben, and now we both have the same name," she said with a laugh.

Many people are curious about the connection, especially since Ben Affleck is Zac’s first cousin once removed. Zac's dad, Dave Affleck, is Ben and Casey Affleck’s first cousin. However, Jennifer admits she’s never actually met Ben, though she hopes to one day. "Zac’s dad met Ben when he was really young, but I haven’t had the chance yet," she explained. 

During the show's premiere, Jennifer mentioned that while Ben and Casey are technically family, they feel more like distant relatives. Still, she’s eager to hear what they think of the show, saying, “I hope they’ll tune in and maybe we can meet and chat about it!”

Jennifer also enjoys poking fun at the family connection. In a recent TikTok, she shared a playful moment while getting her hair done to Jennifer Lopez’s song ‘Jenny from the Block.’ Last year, she humorously referenced her name situation on TikTok, writing, “When you thought you’d be the next JLo, but instead... she took your name!”

‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ premieres on Hulu 6th September.
