Jeremy Allen White has Bruce Springsteen's back!
‘The Bear’ star, 33, shared new details about the upcoming biopic centred on Springsteen's life during the 2024 Emmys press room, following his win for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.
"I’m really excited to get started on this," White said after his big win for ‘The Bear’. "We’ll be starting soon, but I don’t want to share too much yet. It feels wrong to talk about it before diving in." While he kept specifics under wraps, he did mention that he's got a "really beautiful team" supporting him, along with Springsteen's personal guidance.

"Bruce has been incredibly kind, supportive, and available," White added, explaining how Springsteen's involvement, as well as his manager Jon Landau’s, has made the experience even more special. "It’s been such a joy to have their backing, and I feel really lucky. We’re getting there."
Back in March, Variety confirmed that White was in talks to play the legendary rocker in a biopic titled ‘Deliver Me from Nowhere’, based on Warren Zanes' 2023 book. The film will explore Springsteen's creative process during the making of his 1982 album ‘Nebraska’, which marked a departure from his earlier music. Springsteen famously recorded the album solo while working on other projects with the E Street Band, including their iconic ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ album.

Zanes' book details how ‘Nebraska’ reflected both the nation's mood at the time and Springsteen's own internal struggles, which he would only openly discuss years later. Both Springsteen and his longtime manager Jon Landau are closely involved in the film, adding to the authenticity of the project.
Springsteen, also known as ‘The Boss,’ previously won an Academy Award in 1994 for his song ‘Streets of Philadelphia’ from the movie ‘Philadelphia’.
