Jeremy Strong Praises Springsteen Biopic as ‘One of the Greatest Working Experiences’

The actor Jeremy Strong, who starred in ‘Succession’, has expressed his interest in playing Bruce Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau in the forthcoming film ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’. In the movie, Jeremy Allen White portrays Springsteen, who is recording his 1982 album ‘Nebraska’ while going through a difficult time in his life. Landau is acknowledged for having had a major influence on Springsteen’s growth both personally and creatively.

Strong said that working on the project was “one of the greatest working experiences” he has ever had, highlighting the significant influence Landau had on Springsteen’s development as a musician. He also discussed the unique opportunity he and his co-star had to interact with the real-life people they were playing. Both Bruce and Jon were willing and open to sharing their lives, and the more Strong knew about them, the more he realized how important their friendship was—almost like a love story between the two guys. He emphasized how Landau mentored Springsteen at a critical juncture in the artist’s life.

According to Strong, the film’s central theme is “artistic authenticity in an increasingly synthetic world.”

Strong recently played another significant mentor in the movie ‘The Apprentice’, costarring Sebastian Stan, in addition to this part. The movie centres on Donald Trump’s (Stan) formative years, during which he studied under infamous New York attorney Roy Cohn (Strong). Although Cohn and Landau are both mentors, Strong clarified that Cohn is a completely distinct person. According to him, Cohn is a paradox, which makes him a nuanced and multifaceted figure to portray. Strong was fascinated by the complexity of Cohn, who has been called one of the most repugnant people of the 20th century.

He went on to talk about the motivations of the characters in ‘The Apprentice’, pointing out that Cohn and Trump shared a desire for influence and power. They were able to influence the world around them because they believed that they could manipulate others and pull the correct strings.

Strong received a Golden Globe nod for his performance in ‘The Apprentice’, and the movie is predicted to win an Academy Award. The publication of ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ is scheduled for 2025.
