Jisoo of BLACKPINK Says She’s “Not Sure” About Recording Solo Songs

Jisoo, the lead singer of BLACKPINK, has revealed her thoughts on releasing solo music.

The K-pop sensation recently spoke with Rolling Stone for the girl group’s special cover issue, during which she said that she is still hesitant about pursuing a music career outside of BLACKPINK.

Jisoo is the only member of BLACKPINK who has yet to record solo music; instead, she has focused on her acting career, scoring her first-ever starring part in the historical romance K-drama ‘Snowdrop’ last year.

Meanwhile, Jennie was the first member of BLACKPINK to go solo in 2018, with the single “Solo.” Members Rosé and Lisa followed in 2021 with the releases ‘Lalisa’ and ‘R,’ respectively.

BLACKPINK was expected to release a new album later this year, according to Sports Donga last month. While the report first stated that the female group would return “as soon as June,” YG Entertainment has subsequently clarified that while the group is planning a comeback, no official release date has been announced.
