John Cena and Idris Elba Go from Rivals to Allies in Action-Packed ‘Heads of State’ Trailer

In the high-stakes action-comedy ‘Heads of State’, John Cena and Idris Elba reunite on screen as influential international leaders.

The first trailer for the movie, which starred Cena as US President Will Derringer and Elba as UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke, was released by Prime Video.  The two presidents at the centre of the story have a well-known and intense rivalry that starts to seriously disrupt their nations' long-standing friendship.

 They are forced to rely on one another after they are unexpectedly attacked by a formidable foreign adversary that has the ability to overwhelm even their best security personnel.  Despite their differences, they must rely on the one person who can relate to their situation in order to survive.

The teaser suggests that a lot of the friction between Will and Sam stems from Sam's previous career as an action movie star, which Will obviously doesn't respect.

 When their plane is attacked, their first diplomatic trip together takes a crazy turn.  After being forced to leave the grid, the two leaders are able to get in touch with Priyanka Chopra Jonas's character, MI6 agent Noel Bisset.  They try to reorganise and re-arm alongside another ally, played by Jack Quaid, gradually forging an apprehensive but strengthening bond as they fight back.

John Cena and Idris Elba, both talented actors who previously teamed up in the action-packed ‘The Suicide Squad’ in 2021, are reuniting as producers for this exciting new movie. Their dynamic collaboration promises to bring a fresh and thrilling perspective to the project!  Ilya Naishuller, who is best known for ‘Nobody’, is the director of ‘Heads of State’. 

 On 2nd July, the movie will debut on OTT.
